Arnold Martinez


Bass/Vocals



Arnold is the founder and leader of Breaking Point and is the talented bass guitarist and lead vocalist with the band. He has traveled extensively playing music throughout the US and Canada.


His credits include a tour with El Chicano, performances with Jose Feliciano, Tina Turner, Little Joe,Steve Jordan, Freddie Fender, Tower of Power and War. He was also the bass guitarist for the television syndicated, Troy Cory Show in California.



George Avena Jr.  

Guitar/Vocals


George is Breaking Point's Tejano artist. He is an accomplished song writer and has fifteen songs currently on the Tejano music charts. He has written Tejano Music Award winners for artists such as Ruben Ramos, Ram Herrera, David Lee Garza, Sparxs, and Jay Perez. George has also lent his vocal and guitar talents on some of these artist CDs. In 1995 he co-produced and performed songs on actor Mike Moroff's (La Bamba, Robo Cop) CD,
" Mexican Diner. "


George commutes between Phoenix Arizona and San Antonio Texas where he spent several years as guitarist for EMI/Tejas recording artists THE LATIN BREED.




Mike Valenzuela


Drums/vocals


Mike has enjoyed success displaying his percussion abilities for many years in the Phoenix area. He was the drummer for the popular recording band Ecstasy. Mike and Ecstasy performed with such artists as Cameo, The Bar-Kays, Tower of Power, Tierra, and War.


When Mike isn't playing with Breaking Point, he frequently performs with Mirage, voted best Contemporary Jazz Band by Jazz in AZ Magazine.






Phil Luna


Keyboards/vocals


Phil has been Breaking Point's keyboardist for the last five years. He enjoys many musical styles and has consequently played a variety of music. Phil is a veteran of several road bands and the Las Vegas show circuit. In 1994, Phil was recruited by Jerry Wayne Harkey of Actors Theater Company to play piano in the Broadway musical, Bee Hive, a sixties musical. He reprised his role again in 1995 when the show was brought back by popular demand. For several years, he also performed with the Herberger Theater All-stars. Phil performed at concerts with Tower of Power,War, John McLaughlin, Billy Cobham, and played keyboards for Jazz Vocalist, Francine Reed.
